Cornwall boarding

Hello and welcome, I will Tag @Yellowchickenparrot as he is more your way, we love photos, what amazons have you in your flock, I have two orange winged and one double yellow headed plus a Macaw
Thank you. I have a 6yr old Blue Front that I’ve had from a baby, a rescued Orange Wing who I think is about 11, and a 8 yr old Blue and Gold Macaw. I haven’t got any photos at the moment as my phone died losing them all and I’ve just got a replacement but will try and take some more

Amongst my flock I too have a blue front, he is about 36 now. Loves me hates hubby !

I have the same problem with my Blue and Gold Macaw, he is all for me but would have a pop at my husband. However my BFA loves my husband and I have to be on my guard with him. My Macaw’s owner died when he was 3 and the nephew took him on but didn’t know what he was doing, and I understand kept him covered all day while he was at work. He is also afraid of sticks and if you carry large items around

Hi and welcome to the forum
There are a couple of places but don't know of any specifically in that area.
The Parrot Lodge is in Cheltenham (large distance for you though)
We have a member on forum who does parrot boarding too members name is Dell27 but think they maybe some distance too
Becks Bird Barn have also recently had a good review from a member don't think they are your area either though ...
Other than Diana's suggestion of asking your vet if they do boarding I'm not much cop for info in your area :( but if worst comes to worst there are some places … either that or do you have a trusted family member who knows yours birds and is willing to take care of them in your own home?
As others have said YellowChickenParrot lives that area and will perhaps be able to recommend somebody :)

Thank you for your suggestions. I am aware of The Parrot Lodge but it is about 3 hours from me. None of our local vets do parrot boarding either and mine are out of their cages for most of the day, and I just feel it is too much of a responsibility to put on family or fiends. If only we had something like The Parrot Lodge firm here!

To be honest at this stage I am just putting out feelers, as if I go away for a day I keep them in their cages and my sister in law pops in and feeds them and spends time talking to them, but for a longer stay I would need to board them. Trying to be prepared in case of emergency as well

Hi Caroline I have the same problem sometimes trying to find good bird care, I have a friend who used a place which is a weird parrot/bird type rescue place near st Austell but I have not personally heard good things and did visit there a couple years ago and didn't go back let alone leave my parrot there lol. I'm not aloud to mention the name of the place on the forum but could email or message you on FB and talk about it, I actualy think it got shut down but not sure. I don't mind looking after other birds so I might but able to help if I'm free, I live just outside newquay.

I think I know the place you are talking about. It is only about four miles from me and would have been great except I went there to an open day and was appalled at the state of the outside aviaries that thr Macaws wee in, it had stinging nettles almost as high as their perches, and the place looked very run down. My friend moved down from Leicestershire and has boarded her two there long term until she can sort something permanent for them where she lives now, and hasn’t been able to see them as there’s always some excuse that she can’t go in the bird room. To be honest if that was mine they’d have been out of there PDQ! I would love to hear from you. My surname is Hoddinott x
