So glad you know what it is and its treatable. What's the full name of what he's got so I can google it? I was going to ask if a purifier stops it as I have one near Frankies cage. I keep it on all the time.

Dolly, just make sure the filter is cleaned regularly as a HEPA filter will just trap the spores and can act as a 'concentration point' for them. Don't clean it in the same room as the bird as you can spread the spores that are caught.

I just wish we'd known 3 months ago what we know now, but we still don't know how Tommy ended up with Aspers - only that he didn't initially have it and that it must have taken him whilst his immune system was kicked because 'most' birds have resistance to it unless something lowers that resistance to allow the fungus to get a foothold.

We all live and learn and that is the way of things :)

Aspers hmmm yeah a scary word but its totally sortable / manageable... if it had to be one of the two possibilities i know which end of the stick i would want to go with if i was forced to pick one of them....

its nothing you have done and a wise person would get the f10 in and scrub and fog everything and start with a "clean slate" so to speak....there is an old saying...there but for the grace of god go i...Aspers could happen to any of us at anytime.

its going to be a long road but you will get there i am sure

Cody do your mummy and daddy proud little one xx

Oh and your vets can always give you some as vets us the F10SC as well as a hyper concentrated version of it in the surgery....

Better off though with the speed dial thingy as it can come with nutriberries :)

Anyone used the F10 room fogger? - thinking of doing that but our 'bird room' (lounge) is on the large size....

Vet just phoned and wow what an update!... :animated-parrot-image-0025:   :animated-parrot-image-0025:   :animated-parrot-image-0025:

When he woke properly from his op they offered him a bowl of fruit...the little piggy ate the lot!!!   they had to refill his bowl :applause:

His 1st experience of the nebuliser went really well aswell, she said he seemed to overly enjoy it lol....he put his face right up the tube going into his cage and sat there breathing it in for ages!....such a clever lad (must take after his daddy   )

All in all she sounded ecstatic over the progress he has made since his op!

Next update is 10:00 am tomoz and hopefully we will be able to bring him home!
