What's the dimensions of the cage for a cockatiel please? And what's the bar space needed?
I am wanting to get one from Amazon as got Christmas funds on there

Any recommendations?

Agree with Darren - as big as you can but be sure the bar spacing is correct for a Cockatiel. Half an inch/1cm bar spacing??? Can anybody help please?

As big as you can get with 1cm bar space, try to get a "brand" like Rainforest or Liberta as the coating is tested as safe for birds, some "cheap" cages are not.

I read that it's better to be wider than taller?
Would this size work?
Bar spacing is 1cm

Or wider but not as tall?

Personally I would think that cage too small plus it doesn't have swing out food bowls which means you are going to have to put your hand in the cage each time you change food bowls. Not fun if you have a cage territorial bird. It is very narrow and you aren't going to be able to fit in many toys. I would prefer to get, although still a little small:

Or better still size wise this one:

Although I'm not really fond of open tops like that.

I've been asking members on cockatiel group and not many have 100cm wide cages but around 80.

Some people get by with a smaller cage but many others prefer to have a larger one. Any cage must have enough space for a bird to stretch both wings out if they want to. And not to get their tail caught up on the cage when they turn around etc. Plus of course room for toys etc.

Another thing to think about is how long is this bird going to spend in the cage, realistically. You may have good intentions to begin with, but then the bird ends up caged most of the day. If that's the case, the bigger the better.

We only ever have used small cages for all our birds ensuring that they can stretch our their wings and the bar spacing are correct. However, our birds spend most of their time out of the cages and only ever go in over night and when we are out, which is usually once or twice a week. If our birds were to spend a majority of their time inside their cages, then we would have gone for bigger cages.

Parrots should at least spend an hour a day outside their cages for exercise ensuring that all doors and windows are secure to prevent escapees to the outside world

I have a spare cage here. It use to be my little Cheeky's. It is a good size too, I always thought he looked tiny in that cage. I don't know where you live but you are more than welcome to have it.

Thank you all for your help and time replying.i will go as big as possible for my room and not just minimum required. Want it to be good size and space for stretch and play. I mentioned it on other post about not working right now( weekends in a near future but hubby has them off) so plenty of outside time for the birdie.
I shall check the links etc you have me , thank you and @JessCheekyMia I am in South Yorkshire Barnsley, where are you?
And thank you that is so very kind of you .
