Welcome to you and dear Charlie. We have lots of who live with Greys and we are happy to help if we can, so ask away if you have any queries. Charlie is lucky to have found a caring home.
Hi there im hoping i can get some advice, we haven’t got a bird yet but we are really wanting to purchase an African Grey. But before we do i am trying to research as much as i can an learn as much as I can. Could you tell me can i buy any stainless steel kitchen wares or must it be of a certain brand. Thankyou so much in advance

First off reputable breeder. Cites paperwork must be in order before you purchase.
I have stainless steel pans nowt special.
Get rid of air freshener, no scented candles, check out that your house plants are not poisonous if eated, no smoking or vaping, remove delicate precious breakables, ensure chewable wires are protected. These are highly intelligent creatures they can work out systems and puzzles if you don't think they can the little perishers will!
Locate your nearest Avian vet not a general one and not an exotics one either.
Who's looking after it when you go on holiday?
Remember it's not just the cost of the bird the cage is expensive as well the bigger the better, plus toys and a uva/uvb light specific to birds not reptiles or fish.

Remember it's not all a bed of roses... There will be times of screaming you will get bitten these creatures are more difficult than cats and dogs to look after they have the brain capacity of a 5 year old human. Grey's can live to be 50 years old. One of mine has just had her 44th birthday.

Familiarize yourself with these things:

The bad stuff

Good stuff

And just when you thought your brains are about to turn to mush there will be training threads!
All in this folder but wait till you get a bird first. https://theparrotclub.co.uk/community/index.php?forums/training.69/

Hi @Cat65 welcome from me too. do make sure you only buy you Grey from a reputable breeder.
As for your kitchen stainless steel pots & pans I use the Judge ones but other makes are available, nothing with teflon that non stick stuff as it can give off fumes which will kill your bird.
Also be careful to always make sure all windows and doors are closed when you parrot it out of it's cage, and be aware of any other pets you may have too. The Parrot Society UK is good to join they have members who breed and for a yearly sum of about £26 you receive a monthly magazine full of info. You can join on-line.
Anyway good luck and remember it's not cheap to keep a parrot and vets fees are quite expensive too. We are not trying to put you off but just being honest.

👍🏻 thankyou for your help, and i will post all updates when/if we do go ahead

It's great your doing your homework first.
Don't mean to put you off but people always post about the good stuff and forget about the stuff that gives you grey hairs! I've got a lot :risas3:
at the moment am listening to a bad rendition of you'll never walk alone ... It's only been going on for two and a half hours :nut:
Don't get me wrong it's rewarding in a different way to owning something cuddly not all birds talk obviously but some you can definitely have a full on weird conversation with... They are brilliant companions rather than pets.
