It says if its collection in person its ok regarding snails if they are over 5cm
Some land snails are classed as food not pets escargot is a AG land snail sub species hence its listing in the food sector usually its the Helix species that is for consumption
They are eaten in Nigeria as bar snacks and you can find many recipes for them online elsewhere.

am a bit brain boggles by them saying you can sell fish under 5cm and post them though …. Not sure anything is robust enough to go through Royal Mail and come out the other side in one piece! :yikes:

I think it is pretty clear though about what can and can not be sold, that does not mean you can sell budges and love birds.

How does one post a fish?

Can't you buy big goldfish on eBay too, Ive seen the fancy varieties for sale on there

You put them in a bag with water and pure oxygen, usually with a heatpack if tropical fish, in a polystyrene box and then in a cardboard box with fast next day delivery

Don't think I would even buy tropical shrimp online if it means they get posted the thought of it kind of freaks me out
Thanks for the info Heather did wonder how on earth they do such things, but I would still be worried they'd get shaken up and stressed by it all

I agree I never do it as I'm too worried that dead fish will turn up, its happened to people on fish groups I'm in when sellers haven't packaged them properly, you can even buy bettas from abroad.

My brother did it once and every single fish survived and was healthy, I was suprised, he didnt loose any after a few weeks either.

Also that is how they arrive at the petshop before you purchase them anyways
