Budgie-proof Curtains - urgent please!

My lounge curtains are a few years old now, which means that the weave is a little tired. I know this because I have just had to cut poor Squeak out of them. She has not had a good time of it but I am hopeful she is unhurt.

Does anyone have any ideas for safe curtains for budgies, what to buy, where to buy them? I wish to avoid blinds if at all possible but if that is what I must use, I'll use them!

I guess you'll want washable ones. In our last house we had some pretty decent tab top cotton curtains from IKEA that were quite a good weight and washed easily.
I've been referred to Dunelm, who I have used before for a different set of curtains/circumstances.

It might be that curtains are a consumable when you have budgies and require replacing every three years!

Mine are thick victorian lace style curtains in cotton. Less to get claws caught in it plus if you do need to extricate somebody it's actually not that obvious you have.
