Biting Cockatoo

Female parrots tend to bond better with male humans (and vice versa). Your cockatoo becoming more aggressive towards you in April to June is normal hormonal behaviour.
Parrots don't like to harm humans that they are friendly with; they will usually give a warning (beak open, noise, or a gentle bite) if you are doing something they don't like, and only bite hard if you persist or if they are taken by surprise by your actions.
Apologies if you knew all this already.
Thank you so much for your feedback. You are correct. She did provide warnings. She’s back to her usual self now! ❤️

Female parrots tend to bond better with male humans (and vice versa)...
Sorry, but this is an old fallacy. Even in my small flock of 4 this is disproved by Chico (elderly male Amazon) adoring male humans and viciously attacking females when he first arrived - most likely because he was bonded to a male for most of his life before me. And Bobbie (female Amazon) much prefering female humans.
