Another report of a bird injured by a family dog, has prompted this post.

Dogs and cats are predator species to birds, and no matter well domesticated and trained you believe they are, instinct will usurp.

Thanks @TomsMum this topic cannot be emphasized strongly enough and complacency has no home with mixing pets. I could not finish reading the article as it upsets me so much. Please anyone reading this with cats/dogs and birds please take note. If it was my dog that had done that I couldn't live with it in my home, it would never have the same place in my heart and would need to found another. There are no winners.

I would blame the poor quality vet who put the birds down.
