Bio Magnetic perches

Gertie usually prefers to sit on a calcium perch at night at the highest level in her cage but lately has started to chew these till no calcium is left. I have brought several over the past few weeks but she continues to destroy these within a couple of days. I know this chewing is good for her beak and calcium source but this is becoming expensive . I asked in my local pet store where there is a lady employee that keeps various parrots and she suggested a Bio Magnetic perch as she claims these are better for Gerties feet and are much stronger. I purchased one to put high up for Gertie to sleep on but hadn’t come across these before. I know some of you will give me advice or comment on these please.

No idea really, it's like you can also get dog collars similar but never had any affect on mine cannot even remember why I bought them!

I can agree they are very strong and certainly not chewable which it looks like your Gertie enjoys doing. They seem good re keeping nails trim, not sure re much else. My Rubes has developed arthritis and just changed her back to a Java, resting on her hock joint on a rough perch wasn't good. I have not used one as a roosting perch, it would be a long time each night, only used as an option during the day.

Just looking and I think mine were Polly's. This is some of the supposed benefits "Polly's Bio-Magnetic Perches provide comfort in joints, muscles, bones and improve blood circulation, clinical testing has also shown a reduction in feather plucking." My Lou has one too and is still featherless . Her nails are trim though :). Gosh aren't they pricey now?

Thanks for the replies Gertie is sitting on this at night and so far I have not seen any attempts to bite this so that’s good. She sits on it occasionally during the day but also uses various other perches in her cage.
