Bating/showering a parrot

Hi I always use just lukewarm, it must not be hot nor icy cold. I spray around late morning so the bird has the rest of the day to dry off naturally, I never completely really soak the bird , neither is it done daily.
 
A plant misting bottle on fine mist spray up into the air so it falls like rain :)
Oh and nobody baths like an Amazon they really get into it raising wings to get wet underneath arching wings in front of the body hanging upside down and carrying on like kiddies in the summertime water sprinklers :risas3:
 
After testing this, we personally fill our spray bottles with quite hot water, ONLY BECAUSE the actual spray mist that then comes out is only lukewarm. We would never use the actual hot water direct on the birds. Same as @dianaT we tend to do this late morning/early afternoon so that they have a chance to dry naturally. We usually have the room temp around the 20-25 degrees mark, and are sat in with them whilst they dry off.

Today I learned that Quincy is half-cockatiel, half Amazon, based upon her bathing/showering habits :lol:
 
We also use lukewarm water for our girls, it did take us time to teach them but now both use shower perch in the bathroom, if they want shower usually they fly to sisal rope in corridor and scream at us so we know it’s time to open bathroom door, although they are little ( Indian ringnecks) so we use spray bottle instead of shower head, I think stream of water from shower head would be bit strong for them, Blu usually showers once or twice a week sometimes more but rarely, Bluey is shower enthusiast most of the time and often will demand shower every other day, I did ask vet about that because I was worried maybe air is too dry or something is wrong but he said she looks in perfect condition and most likely just enjoys showers so just let her be
 
i'm the same as MJ, I use very hot water as its comes out the mister and cools instantly, so I spay it on my face to make sure its cool.

but generally Ted decides when he wants a bath and starts it in his water bowl, then I can join in, otherwise he just sits and gives me a disgusted look.

9/10 times he decides evening is best, that way I can worry about him being cold at night and put radiators on for him, I do like the way he thinks of giving me stuff to do, he's good like that :watchout:
