Bathing IRN

Hello

Just looking for a bit of advice for bathing my IRN. He doesn't really do it too often. Only had him 3 weeks and hes had maybe 2 quick splashes in his food bowl but not got very wet at all.

I had tried spraying (up over the top of the cage so it falls on him rather than spraying at him) but couldn't really tell if he liked it or not. More of kuat an acceptance of it happening without battering an eyelid. Wondering if its better to add a bowl of water to his cage or just let let him carry on with the infrequent water bowl splashes?

I'm not sure how often he should be bathing. He does spend quite a bit of time each day preening.

I spray mine every two days with water left so it gets to room temperature, you may find at first your bird may try to get away from the spray but as it gets wet it will start to open its wings and enjoy the experience, do not use a spray bottle that has been used for anything other than water you may find your bird may prefer the water from the spray to hit it as if it is raining but three of mine prefer the water to hit it directly and cannot get enough of a soaking. I never use water that is colder or hotter than room temperature. you may find that when vacuum cleaning your birds love to bath, No one knows why but nearly all my flock will react

Great thank you. I've already bought a new spray bottle for him as had been worried to use an old one. Interesting to hear about the vaccuming. We haven't dared yet incase it scared him so have been sweeping up instead until he was a little more settled.

He didn't walk away when I sprayed him last. He just sat at let it land on him without really reacting at all to it so maybe he will like it more regularly.
