My neighbour has offered me branches of her outdoor Cherry tree to use for my parrots. Is it safe to use them ??

Any suggestions for what kind of wood can be used to maka a separate play area for parrots

Apple, hazel. willow, there is a list on the forum of safe woods, make sure they are scrubbed before use though.

    Hello everyone
My parrots are showing a bit of unusual behaviour. They both are 7 months old. They are shredding a lot of paper. Is it safe for them. And sometimes one of them spreads its wings and tries to speak something by following the other parrot around. Is all this normal ??
Am i not feeding the right diet. I do give them fresh fruits and vegetables. And sometimes nuts as their treat.

Shredding paper is okay you can offer cardboard boxes too. It sounds to me rather like mating behaviour, but 7 months is rather young. Perhaps it is wanting to play ? I am sure other members will be along with advice.

It all keeps the beaks busy and gives them something to do. You could wrap up nuts & treats too and put them in there.
