Sadly I have to say Alan my disabled Orange winged Amazon has passed away in my hands. He fitted earlier and fell to the bottom of his cage, I cannot say how sad I am feeling but I now I have done all I can to give him a better life. he was dealt with many a bad deal from birth, I did not expect it to be so sudden I noticed the other day his poops was getting harder although he was drinking well, his kidney and liver was deformed and I was told when I first took him for a full check he had not long to live, that was two years ago, I taught him how to balance and sit on a perch in stead of being on the floor of a cage. I just fill lost now, he was a lovely friendly bird .

Oh dear I am so very sad to hear this. Rest peacefully lovely one, you well well cared for with Michael and he will miss you terribly xx

Thank you Diana, I am in tears but I am so glad I got to help him, Pip will be lost as he always tried to feed him and share his food, the constant care he needed including wiping his bottom brought me so close to him, he could not scratch him self so the little things like pin feathers would need my help. he had gone through rough times and I was able to pull him through, he had no tail feathers and was so reliant on me, unable to fly and even had difficulty walking, Alan was the most disabled bird I had taken on, I was given the opportunity to have him put to sleep when I first got him and the vet was surprised when I took him back for his yearly check up. they gave him two months. he was deformed in his legs and feet and his wings never developed properly, I wish he has a perfect body now and in the care of Jude will be forever happy.

Michael, that is so sad. Alan was a special bird. I have seen him, stroked him. Take care my friend at this sad time for you
Kind regards
Dean

yes he was special, so gentle just wanted to help him lead as normal a life as possible. I am so pleased he found friends amongst the flock.
