Air purifier details.

Have a good mooch at second hand see what is to be had? I know there are still the 3M FAP 02 and 03's out there but I think the filters are getting harder to find. Seen a 03 for £15. My FAP02 has been and still is great. I get away with one filter a year as able to hoover it out and then get the machine to check it's status for me.

Found a used to be of these, it’s a bit of a drive but anyone use them ?

I’ve found me in Dorchester don’t know what type looks the same and says 3m on the filter, are they quiet ? As will be in the living room

yes it's quiet hun - did you hear it? :) I have now switched it to number two with four birds in the room. It can go one up but is noisier as I'd expect. Level one will most likely be fine for you and yes good. Do homework on sourcing those filters though. Have purchased from Argos before

I have the Heaven Fresh XJ-3800A AIR PURIFIER. I have the older model (without the remote) and recently I bought the newer version:

The newer version is quieter than the older one, but they are both pretty quiet on "Quiet" setting. New one is almost silent. You have to wash the grid and first filter monthly. There is another carbon filter that you are meant to change every 6 month. But I eke it out to a year with regular vaccuming. You can find these filters on Amazon for £35. With the older model you can't turn off the UV light which is annoying at night, so I covered it with blue tack. With the new one you can turn it off with the remote.

I hated the Levoit.

I bought one of these:

You can turn off the functions you don't want and change the settings on it.

The above looks interesting, CaptainHowdy! Can you turn the ioniser off?

Yep you can turn it off, and the uv if you wanted to. Has 5 modes on. I keep it on 1 and its not particularly noisy but does get noisier the higher the mode.

Thanks all, I found a 3m one like @plumsmum has locally for £15 never used

it’s only rated for a 14m sq room and ours is 22, so I’ll see how it gets on.

if it’s not quite manly enough I think I’ll go for the heaven fresh one and use this in the bedroom.

Just to add that there are sites that will make filters to order. Unfortunately the address isnt to hand so if I can locate it again will add to this post for everyone's benefit.

had a look around last night and as micheal says, 3m do a "cut to size" roll, no idea on size or cost, may get more info and post here as well.

I can see the prices have increased since Covid and the extra demand, bought my 4 metre roll two years ago and changed the filters in each of my purifiers and even the dehumidifiers. the cost then was only just over twice the price of replacing a Heppa filter through the manufacturer's of the purifier.
