It is! The top has suffered and I have to keep a blanket up there to keep them off as much as possible. To be fair they spend most of their time free in the conservatory and are only out in the kitchen during breakfast and the early part of the evening before they go to bed so I can monitor it...

Shower day. Del the Macaw sees this as his tree. Echo the Blue Front Amazon has to chance his luck. Del looks submissive but he’ll have him if he gets any closer. Charlie the Orange Wing keeps out of it and is busy looking out of the window

Taking your parrot on holiday (UK)

Hi, I have just joined the group and was scrolling through. We have a tourer and take all three of ours with us. The two Amazons go in their travel cages but I have a special cage made by Rosemead for my Macaw. Our tourer has a bunk on the side so we took the cushions out and fitted a board...

    Cornwall boarding

I think I know the place you are talking about. It is only about four miles from me and would have been great except I went there to an open day and was appalled at the state of the outside aviaries that thr Macaws wee in, it had stinging nettles almost as high as their perches, and the place...

    Cornwall boarding

To be honest at this stage I am just putting out feelers, as if I go away for a day I keep them in their cages and my sister in law pops in and feeds them and spends time talking to them, but for a longer stay I would need to board them. Trying to be prepared in case of emergency as well

    Cornwall boarding

Thank you for your suggestions. I am aware of The Parrot Lodge but it is about 3 hours from me. None of our local vets do parrot boarding either and mine are out of their cages for most of the day, and I just feel it is too much of a responsibility to put on family or fiends. If only we had...

    Cornwall boarding

I have the same problem with my Blue and Gold Macaw, he is all for me but would have a pop at my husband. However my BFA loves my husband and I have to be on my guard with him. My Macaw’s owner died when he was 3 and the nephew took him on but didn’t know what he was doing, and I understand...

    Cornwall boarding

Thank you. I have a 6yr old Blue Front that I’ve had from a baby, a rescued Orange Wing who I think is about 11, and a 8 yr old Blue and Gold Macaw. I haven’t got any photos at the moment as my phone died losing them all and I’ve just got a replacement but will try and take some more

    Cornwall boarding

Hi everyone, I have just joined and have two Amazons and a Macaw. Two of my birds are rescues. Is there anyone on here from Cornwall or Devon that can recommend a good boarding facility? Many thanks
