    Pumpkin fun

Welcome Charlie and your lovely Eccie and Alexandrine. They are loving that pumpkin 🎃 I’ve also got an Alexandrine named ‘Alex’ I call him the green seagull, just crinkle a packet of crisps and he’ll come running (of course we don’t feed him that). Like my late sausage dog he tries to eat...

They are all so lovely. Why is the rest of the flock like OMG what is his problem?! The Eccie looks particularly like ‘good lord!’

    Saturday 19th October

Feel better soon, I’ve become a sneeze machine myself even the birds are getting a bit huffy with me.

    Saturday 19th October

Happy to hear Snowy is fine. The birds probably just heard ‘blah blah blah Snowy?’ Or ‘blah blah blah Snowy!’ And then read your facial expressions. My Alex has learned to escape his cage through one of the side doors where his bowl hangs. I watched him delicately slide the latch and push the...

    Friday 18th October

Oh no! So sorry to see, especially when you spent so much time and money on it. Salt water fish tanks are notoriously hard to keep you’ve got to keep a constant close eye on everything. You’ve done a great job for all those years to keep your tank going. A marine environment is hard to replicate.

    Friday 18th October

Afternoon guys odd rain/sun weather down in London. Feeling crap, off the flu and ferrying the little ones to half term activities. Birds are having quiet time on their branches. Alex is very fond of the fridge and tries to go inside to look for food everytime the fridge is opened. Both birds...

    Beryl...... Update

Sounds like Beryl is settling in nicely. Alex likes to perch in the tap in the kitchen sink as well. He likes being next to water as far as I can tell and it also gives him a good view of all the food in the kitchen! 😂

I want to own a parrot advice please

I’ve got a young male Alexandrine parrot named ‘Alex’. I’m told Alexandrines are a lot easier to tame than other parrots. They are less nippy and love being outside (on his perch/java tree) Ours is very brave and curious, loves people, baths and food. Food has been my way of training him and...

I want to own a parrot advice please

You just have to do the research and take the plunge. There are generalisations about each breed that will help your decision but ultimately you don’t really know what your bird is going be like because they all have different personalities. You can ask about specific breeds that you are...

    Beryl...... Update

That’s excellent! He’s tame if he’s letting you give him head scratches and stepping up. It will just take time to establish trust with you. Don’t give up, keep giving him attention, bring him nice things to eat something only you can give him. In the beginning I was the person Alex would come...

    Our new family member

Also my partner is Alex’s person but over time he has warmed to me and will hop on me every morning as his second favourite human branch. He will cuddle on the couch at night (rather than go back in his cage) if my partner is not around.

    2 alexandrines from cheshire.

Welcome Gemma, Buddy and Emrald. I’ve also got an Alexandrine named ‘Alex’. Your pair are lovely. Hopefully with time Emrald will follow Buddy. I’m seeing that my Moustache Parakeet hen is getting more adventurous and seeing that she can interact with us more without biting because of Alex, so...
