    Plucking The Other Bird? !

With the winter thing, it was things like keep the daylight shorter (cover them earlier)so they think it's winter, therefore won't want to breed (as this plucking may be something to do with wanting to breed?)

    Plucking The Other Bird? !

Hi all, our make cockatiel preens our female's head, and as you can see she is getting more and more bald! She puts her head down to him and she likes it, it's not aggressive. I asked the vet and he suggested separating them or making them think it's winter. Anyone else had this? Anyone used...

    Fake Eggs..

We don't want them to have babies no. So are you saying take them out when he's got bored of them, not before? Also when you say repeat laying do you mean as in each clutch, or within one blush repeat laying? It's always 2 or 3 at a time.

    Fake Eggs..

Hi all, Our female has had her third clutch of eggs she's ever had. We take them out and replace with fake. This time the male seems the most interested he's ever been. He's sitting on them every day. Before, we've taken the fake ones out a few days after she's laid the last one. Whereas now I'm...

    Male Attacking Pregnant Female!

Oh they have their moments of fighting exactly how you describe. Skinny birds with mouths open clacking beaks! But this was different. She was in the box, now we know about to lay an egg, and he just started lunging in the box and proper biting, wings out making him look big. It's like he...

    Male Attacking Pregnant Female!

So misty had 2 eggs 3 months ago. She's just laid another one. We don't intentionally breed them. We take the eggs out and put fake ones in. This time we didn't know she was pregnant, Ronnie just started really viciously attacking her on the floor with his wings out. We put him in the cage, and...

    Safe Cookware

If they aren't in the new place I'll get them no problem. I know it can be from the gas cooker, just didn't know if a fire gives off anything else that might be dangerous. Like does it depend on the kind of wood that is burned etc

    Safe Cookware

We've got carbon monoxide detectors in the place where we are now but when we move I need to check with her. Is it that that would be dangerous from a fire?
