    Lost African Grey behaviour

Could you maybe take your Amazon in a travel cage to this garden and set up an empty one next to him with food and water and then keep watch from a hidden distance to see if (fingers crossed) if waldo is around there he may find the courage to fly over if he doesn't feel there are any threats...

    Start of a plucking boy!

Hi, having been what you are going through the biggest advice and as hard as it is, try not to worry or show you are anxious/stressed to Bo. My grey was feather perfect until the age of 5 then out of the blue out came the feathers. One morning I went to wake him and the cage bottom was covered...

    Lost African Grey behaviour

I really do hope you find him, you have been in my thoughts all day. I know I'd be beside myself if my Grey ever went missing. I truly feel for you. Keep up hope. Is he chipped or rung? Also keep ringing local rescue centres even the same ones as sometimes they don't communicate with each other...

    Lost African Grey behaviour

So sorry to he is lost, I do hope he is found safe & well. Only from others experiences of losing their birds (greys) all 3 were found within 1/4 mile prob less than that as they went no further than a street away. The worst thing to do is panic (easier said than done) I would keep to local...

    budgie breathing difficulty

I'm not much help on what to do but I wouldn't say 8yrs is old for a budgie. I had one for 12 years so hopefully she still has a good few years ahead of her. What are her droppings like?

Early signs of plucking or rough moult?

I wouldn't worry. I panicked so much over if my baby was plucking when I found 10ish feathers or so as I thought that was plucking. I didn't realise that was just normal. When I woke up to find the cage bottom covered and I mean covered then I realised all those other times over the years were...

    About gluten

Thanks for your reply, it's really helpful to know. Is it ok to ask if you ever did a post about Ollie and PDD? It seems to be a topic not many people share their experience of, but those who have had/have birds with the condition are a wealth of information and experience that vets and books...

    About gluten

Just out of interest, may I ask what sort of foods you fed your OW which had the PDD to help with their digestion? Also did you have to keep them separate to your other flock members or were you able to find a way they could still interact together? Sorry to be nosey.

    Parrots are fickle...

Very true, I have learnt the same thing. If i offer my right hand as I'm right handed, some birds just don't even try and step up and go to attack but swap to the other hand and they step up no problem. Same applies to some birds don't step onto bare skin but will if you cover your hand/arm...

Boarding options for Bornavirus positive conure

Thanks for that, it useful to know, I didn't realise they could have it long term. The little fella I know who has tested positive for ABV has had celebrex for it but isnt on it daily. So far touch wood he is doing well and wouldn't even know he had it. Do you know how your Pico may have caught it?

Boarding options for Bornavirus positive conure

Sorry, I meant ABV, predictive text again. I Just thought it might be useful to know so they could mention it to their avian vet?

Boarding options for Bornavirus positive conure

May I ask what medicine he had each day? Just curious as I know of someone who also has a bird with PDD and theirs doesn't have daily medicine so could be good to let them know in case it helps their own.
