Bumble foot/sores ?

Hi all

as you know with Berts illness the vet noticed a very small patch under his feet of redness, asked about his perches which he has 4/5 different sizes including willow, rubber, calcium edible thing, pedi perches (medium and large) and a flat shelf.

the vet advised to wrap his main perch in vetwrap to soften which I’ve done.

which one of these would you say is a better size for his feet ?

the willow is around 25/30mm the pink calcium is around 45/50mm but it varies from 42-50 ish this is and has been his normal high perch which he spends a lot of time on.

Tells you size of perch with the bird having a 75% wrap around of the foot after measuring the foot length so for an African Grey 2.5 to 3.8 cm.

If he has sores/bumblefoot, the perches need to be scrupulously cleaned. Is it possible to get him to move around a bit more?

Thank you, I have contacted The natural bird co, I need to get the vet to measure his feet but I sent the pics and they said
“Those two look fine in size.”

got that this morning.

Ill try to get a pic of it.

as for moving around it’s difficult as he does sleep a lot, I’ve spoke to the vet and they said it’s relatively normal with us condition to nap a lot.

he doesn’t sit on the same perch all day, he does move around sometimes under his light, sometimes on his sleep perch.

perches are clean, soaked in F10 every week and wiped off as soon as they get any dirt on them but he never poops on any of his perches.

sometime he steps in his poop on the floor but not often as I change his paper 2/3 times a day.
I’ll try to take a pic for you to see

So not the clearest as I had to do screen grabs from video

Does the link work ?

You did a great job with the wrap Scott last time I used it I got wrinkles everywhere kept having to redo it all.
I would think in a couple of days you will see a difference with it being softer. :)
Such a handsome bird.

Yes bilbos look like that but not as raw, he was in a state when I got him and loads better now but I just can’t seem to get that last bit to heal up. i might try some vetwrap any creams to use?

If anybody needs a link to the wrap I use the 3m horse vet wrap.
