Bebe has this weird habit of licking the roof of her mouth and sort of rolling sticky snot around. The end of her tongue goes white and she zones out and waves obsessively. It happened originally at bedtime when she was winding down for sleep. Our vet said to monitor the timing and if she starts to do it more often and at odd times then get in touch. Bebe has some 'issues' and is a bit obsessive and neurotic in her behaviour, so we weren't overly concerned and it was possibly a self soothing behaviour we were advised. However, in the last couple of days Gary has started to do the same thing (snot and white tongue) without the trance and the waving, and at any time. He's booked in for a general check up and his preen gland drain, this Saturday, in the meantime has anyone seen this on their bird? I found a video of an eclectus online who did it and it was a crop infection for him.
